As believers in Jesus Christ, we won’t agree on everything.
Some will think it’s wrong to eat certain foods, others won’t. Some will think church should be on a certain day, others won’t.
As we work diligently to unpack the scriptures, we will come to different conclusions at different times.
Even when we receive prophecy as a gift from the Holy Spirit, we only see a part of it. And the part that we get is not at odds with the part someone else gets. We just have to patiently work together to see the full picture.
If you have a hard time wrapping your head around this, go read Romans 14. It spells out exactly what I am saying.
We must learn how to honor others’ convictions, especially when they are not our own. We are not to condemn or make light of them.
The world will know us by our love one for another. It’s time we show them.
We've been lied to by the government and mainstream media. COVID sure was a wake-up call, wasn’t it?
This gave us a new passion for the truth, which is a really good thing. But our way of delivering the truth to others is lacking.
The Bible says that love rejoices in the truth. This is the same rejoicing Jesus said that the father had when the prodigal came home.
If joy and gladness are not permeating your delivery of the truth, you can't call it the Lord's work. Even though you are standing for truth, it has a negative impact on others if it is not paired with rejoicing.
Jesus was full of grace and truth. In other words, He always paired truth with joy, loving-kindness, and tender mercy.
The only time Jesus was fierce was with the Pharisees, who were beating people up with the truth. Interestingly, those who are harsh with the truth are usually hypocrites.
So, don't just stand for the truth. Rejoice in the truth.
If you can't deliver the truth with joy, it's best to be quiet until you can.
What we call conspiracy theories, God calls old wives' tales and tells us to stay away from them.
Our great enemy, the devil, uses conspiracy theories to distract lovers of the truth. He exploits our godly passion by getting us tied up in the wrong things.
This not only steals our time from things that matter, but causes arguments and ultimately division in the church.
The worst of it right now regards the nation of Israel. There are so many conspiracy theories floating around about the Jewish people, and many are falling prey to the virus.
If you want to know the truth about Israel, read the Bible. If there were to be a fake Israel in the end times, the Bible would have told us. But it doesn't.
Rather, it verifies that there is a rebirth of Israel in the last days, and all nations will hate it. Looks like we're there, doesn't it?
Other conspiracy theories to stay away from: the shape of the earth, the moon landing, the Epstein files, weather manipulation, aliens, and the list goes on.
Yes, the truth matters. But no one can discern the truth without the Holy Spirit.
Our goal is not to convince people of the truth on these matters. It is to introduce them to the truth (Jesus) so they can be filled with His Spirit.
You should expect God's favor in every situation.
In Psalm 5, it's made clear that God's favor surrounds and protects the righteous. Since we are the righteousness of God in Christ, favor is eager to help us everywhere we go.
Why do you think the enemy works so hard to get you to reject God's favor? Because the only one who can stop His favor is you.
It's all around you, but if you reject it, it will have no impact on your life.
To experience God's favor, you have to submit to it. Let it bring you great joy as you receive such a merciful gift.
These wonderful experiences of God's love are what make us complete in Him.
No more expecting the worst. Throw that wrong thinking to the curb and diligently expect God's favor always.
God blesses the righteous. It is His will and His pleasure to surround us with favor.
Only the righteous qualify. But He is so eager to bless us that He made it easy to become righteous.
All it takes is faith. Believe that Jesus Christ took our sin and gave us His righteousness.
It's a gift that we receive through the blood of Christ. You know you've received it when you are living a righteous life.
This gift of righteousness does not produce hypocrisy. It comes with great power and delivers us from sin and shame.
If you claim His righteousness but go on living in sin, you are fooling yourself. Humble yourself and believe.
The wonderful righteousness of Jesus Christ does not leave you in your sin; it rescues you and sets you free.
As we wait with expectation for the soon return of Jesus Christ, we will encounter many opportunities to be troubled.
Deception, wars, earthquakes, pestilences, offense, betrayal, lawlessness... all these things will continue to multiply leading up to His return.
Do you know what your assignment is in the midst of it all?
Jesus said, "See that you are not troubled." This entire phrase is an instruction for your thought life.
Even though trouble is all around you, you get to decide whether or not your mind is troubled. Your thoughts are your responsibility.
You'll be tempted to dwell on the terrible things happening. Don't do it. Instead, let them be a reminder that Jesus is coming soon.
You'll be tempted to be offended by all the people acting a fool in these last days. Don't do it. Instead, extend mercy and love by believing the best.
Refuse to be troubled in your mind. Take every disobedient thought captive. Think only on the good things.
