Jesus wants unity in the church. He wants us to become one with Him.
It'll never happen until we first become humble and gentle with each other.
The only reason there are different denominations is because of pride that we mask as spiritual superiority.
Here's what it sounds like: "I have a revelation you don't have. And since we don't agree, we have to part ways."
Then the church is divided over end-time views, or speaking in tongues, or how to do baptism, or whatever else we prioritize over the Gospel.
It feels so right in the moment because we are so passionate about getting things right. But when you take time to see it from God's perspective, you find that He is not pleased when we separate over these things.
His desire is for us to approach every disagreement with humility and gentleness.
Humility means recognizing that both of us are just as capable of reaching the wrong conclusion.
Gentleness means we are patient and calm as we work through it, no matter how long it takes.
God is not threatened by our lack of understanding, and we shouldn't be either.
