For the first time, I recognize how we’ve allowed sickness to have more authority than God has in our lives.
God desperately wants us healed. He demonstrated this through the ministry of Jesus Christ, who went about healing all.
Yet, when healing is preached, most respond by defending sickness.
Why? Because sickness has more authority in our lives than God does. It has become a god in our medical-focused culture.
Somehow, we think that defending sickness justifies our loved ones who have died from sickness. But that is the equivalent of protecting the murderer so they can continue killing.
When we defend sickness, all it does is make room for others to be tormented by something that Jesus already carried for us.
Help us, Lord, to take sickness off the throne of our lives so we can receive the healing you paid a high price for us to have.
