We spend a lot of time reflecting on the miracles of Jesus. But there is an aspect of His ministry we so easily forget.
Jesus often withdrew to the wilderness to pray. Often. By Himself.
He even taught us to do the same when he rebuked those who pray to be seen.
Our conversation with the Lord is best in private, behind closed doors. That's when we are undistracted so we can focus on hearing His voice.
This is the secret place in Psalm 91. That's where Jesus was when He was nowhere to be found—in the secret place.
The disciples didn't like it. The crowd didn't like it. But Jesus disappeared into the secret place over and over again.
So, will you keep giving in to the pressure to stay available all the time?
Or will you follow the example of Jesus and yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit to disappear into the secret place over and over again?
