You can't follow the Lord and keep everyone happy.
This is tough for us who've grown up in a church culture that prioritizes keeping the peace.
If enough people say they don't like the gifts of the Spirit, the church will shy away from prophecy, healing, and miracles.
Pastors are pressured to preach only safe, self-help messages that don't stir up controversy.
This may create an appearance of peace, but it's fake. All that is being accomplished is appeasing disobedient people and punishing obedient people in the process.
It is no one's duty but our own to maintain peace.
If we blame the church, or the pastor, or someone else for our lack of peace, we are only fooling ourselves.
Godly peace only comes as we walk according to the Spirit. It has nothing to do with our circumstances.
You are not responsible for maintaining someone else's peace. If you fall into that trap, you'll find yourself pleasing man instead of pleasing God.
You can't follow the Lord and keep everyone happy. Over and over again, you will have to make someone else upset in order to obey the Lord. Even those closest to you.
