Pleading the blood of Jesus carries no authority unless you know what it does for you.
Saying "I plead the blood" without knowing what has been accomplished through the blood of Jesus is nothing but empty words.
Don't get me wrong. Speaking is required for faith to work. But if the words don't come from an inward assurance, they are empty containers.
For the words themselves are not powerful. They are containers, or carriers.
Without that inward confidence we call faith, our words carry nothing and will accomplish nothing.
I could go many ways with this, but I want to focus on helping you effectively plead the blood of Jesus by revealing what the blood has done for you. Seven things.
First, the blood has redeemed you out of the hand of Satan by forgiving all your sins.
Second, the blood continually cleanses you, day in and day out, as you walk in the light.
Third, the blood makes you righteous. Just as if you never sinned.
Fourth, the blood purchased your entire being, spirit, soul, and body. All of it belongs to God, which means the devil has no place in you, and no power over you.
Fifth, the blood gives you God's abundant life, divine, eternal, and endless.
Sixth, the blood continually intercedes for you in heaven. It is constantly speaking to God for your benefit.
Seventh, the blood gives you full access into the presence of God, into the Holy of Holies.
So, this is why, when the enemy brings up our past, we plead the blood. For through it, our sins are forgiven.
When sickness comes, we plead the blood, for it has purchased not just our spirits, but our physical bodies.
This is how we overcome, by continually testifying about what the blood of Jesus has done for us.
