There's this peculiar thing in the Bible called rest.
And because of our lovely American culture, we have a total misunderstanding of what it means to rest in the Lord.
The American version of rest should probably be called lethargy. It's when we are really tired for whatever reason and decide to plop down on the couch for hours at a time.
Biblical rest, on the other hand, is a state of confident expectation that the Lord will do what He says.
This is what we are supposed to be doing between the moment we release our faith and when we finally receive what we are asking for. However long it takes, we rest because faith assures us that even though we can't see it, it is already done.
Abraham is our example of what Biblical rest looks like. He had no reason to even hope to have a son one day. Yet, he believed in the God who raises the dead and makes new things out of nothing.
Abraham was in that state of confident expectation for 25 years before he received what God had promised. And since he rested in the Lord, his faith didn't weaken as time passed, but grew stronger and stronger.
So, why are you thinking about giving up? If Abraham can wait with expectation for 25 years, surely you can for a few days or months. Even if it takes more than a year, who cares? God will do what He said, as long as we believe.
There's only one thing God requires of you: Believe. Resist every temptation to doubt and only believe.
