My son, Micah, was met with major challenges at birth. We've spent the last ten days in the hospital with more to come as we work out his miraculous testimony.
As I walk the halls of the hospital, I see many sick kids. Knowing this is not God's will, I asked the Lord why Micah's outcome will be a miracle when it's not the case for so many others.
His answer was simple, "Because they don't know to hold the line."
In society, we're pressured to accept a diagnosis as fact. After all, the lab test confirms it, right?
Nowhere in the Bible are we instructed to accept sickness, disease, or infirmity. Quite the opposite, actually.
We are to stay alert, watching for our great enemy, the devil, who is seeking whom he may devour. Since we're watching, we immediately know when it's time to stand firm against him with strong faith.
This is what it means to hold the line. You refuse to give ground to the enemy, especially when under pressure.
When the doctor says, "Your kid has ____," you respond with, "I refuse to accept that. According to God, my child is destined for healing and wholeness."
This is an unpopular message. Most people want to coddle a diagnosis and give the family pity. If you join the masses, you are giving place to the devil. You are compromising on God.
May a boldness come on the body of Christ to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.
May parents recognize the authority God has given them over their children to override anything the doctors have spoken.
It's time to be strong in the Lord - in HIS mighty power.
