On His way to heal a sick 12-year-old girl, she died. Many told Jesus to give up and let it go. But He continued the journey.
When He arrived, He entered the house where people were wailing and mourning, and said the most ridiculous thing, "The child is not dead, but asleep."
Despite the laughing mockery of sensible people, He went to the girl, grabbed her cold, lifeless hand, and said, "Child, get up!" Immediately, she stood up and walked around.
In this, Jesus demonstrated the hardest part about faith: You must continue in faith even when circumstances scream in your face.
Even when everyone else has given up. Even when you are mocked.
When the situation looks dead to everyone else, continue in faith.
Faith doesn't give up. It stands firm. It resists the urge to waver. It doesn't allow anything else, no matter how "real" it is, to become higher than God's Word and promises.
In Christ, we have resurrection power. It's not over unless we give up on what God said.
Hold the line! Lift up your shield of faith to stop everything the enemy throws at you. Be victorious!
