Are you really saved?

October 24, 2025 by Kade Young

According to Jesus, many think they're saved but are not.

Interestingly, it's a lack of obedience that identifies them.

We have a hard time reconciling this because we also know that salvation is not by works, but by faith. It's only by believing in Jesus Christ that we are saved.

So, why does Jesus say that only those who obey Him will enter the kingdom of heaven? The answer is in the same block of scripture, all found in Matthew 7.

Jesus explains that our fruit identifies us. In other words, our actions reveal what's hidden inside, our faith (or lack of it).

Salvation only comes by believing that Jesus Christ paid the price to forgive your sins and make you righteous.

And when that faith is present, it only produces one thing: obedience to God.  That's why your actions identify what you really believe.

If you think you're saved, but obedience to God is not your strongest desire, it's time to stop fooling yourself.

Humble yourself before God. Repent of your wicked ways. Receive salvation by believing Jesus Christ, the Son of God, sacrificed Himself and then rose from the dead to rescue you from what you deserve.

Eternity in hell is what we all deserve. But Jesus made a way of escape. Let Him rescue you today.
